Topographic
by Lindsey Marie Stormo
I want to map your insides.
Every atom.
Every turn.
Of every nerve.
The cells of your past,
the hands of your future,
the eyes I now know.
Maps to melt
the bombs of your back
to molasses,
dark as your eyes.
Maps to feed
the child in you,
to feed
the child in me.
I want to map your insides!
Every thought.
Of every wish.
Of every day.
The words of your past,
the walks of your future,
the eyes I now know.
North of joy, south of song
and medicine of the heart.
Maps of poetry, colors of touch,
the oak tree we have yet to find.
East and west, I want you.
East and west, I want you
to map me, too.
